Andrea jumped down from the platform. Ahead of her, the tracks disappeared into the dark curve of the tunnel.
“I’m not so sure you should do this, Andrea.”
The young girl smiled up at him, “It’s okay Alastair, honestly. J’Sharn will be here.”
Alastair was worried. What she was planning was dangerous – extremely dangerous. A week ago, he’d seen her appear, dazed and confused, out of a ball of light. The story she told him was unbelievable, but so compelling, he believed every word.
A distant rumble brought him back to the present and Alastair could feel the train’s thundering approach.
“Thank you for everything Alastair. I’ll never forget you.” She began running towards the tunnel. Suddenly Alastair could see the glow of the train’s light. His heart pounded – she was going to be killed.
And then a ball of light expanded around her and she was gone.
